Peter Cavendish
His Excellency Ambassador Peter Cavendish was appointed Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Delegation of the EU to Trinidad and Tobago on April 16th, 2021. He has been working at EU institutions since 1995 in Humanitarian Aid & Civil Protection, and in finance and security. Prior to joining the EU, Ambassador Cavendish worked in the financial and petrochemical sectors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Dublin (1982) and a master’s in business studies (1983).
Dr Axel Kravatzky
Dr Axel Kravatzky is the current President of EUROCHAMTT and Managing Partner of Syntegra-360, advising and guiding leaders on how to develop, activate and amplify the power of their brand and people to positively impact society and the natural environment profitably. As the practice lead for Integrated Governance and Strategy he has been working with boards of directors, board committees and executives for over 20 years. His specialties are the financial, state-owned enterprise, utilities, and non-for-profit sectors. Axel was the founding Chair of the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (CCGI) and led the development of the first and only accredited Corporate Governance training programme in the Caribbean region.
Axel is the Vice Chair of ISO/TC309 Governance of Organizations. He also serves as the convener and technical editor for ISO/TC309/WG1 where he co-led with Dr Victoria Hurth the development of the global benchmark on good organizational governance: “ISO 37000:2021 Governance of Organizations — Guidance”. The committee consisted at the time of 77 countries and 24 liaison organisations, and the standard was unanimously approved and published after a ballot of all 163 ISO member countries in September 2021. Axel is currently also project leader of “ISO 37006 Indicators of effective organizational governance – Guidance”.
Gonçalo Mendes
Danica Corbin
Danica is a Manager at KPMG Caricom, serving as the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Driver for Caricom.
With over a decade of experience at KPMG, she transitioned from the Barbados Audit practice to the Caricom Advisory practice in 2019. Her expertise spans ESG Advisory, ESG Reporting, Sustainable Finance, Climate Change, and Decarbonization, with a focus on sectors like Insurance, Financial Services, Infrastructure, Government, Energy, and Natural Resources. Danica is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a member of CPA Canada, holding a BSc in Accounting from the University of the West Indies and multiple sustainability-related certifications. Her professional skills include internal controls over financial reporting, corporate accounting advisory, risk assessments, capital management, recovery and resolution planning, and extensive experience in financial statement audits across various industries. She is also well-versed in enterprise risk management methodology and ESG topics, including ESG reporting frameworks, climate risks, and energy transition.
Danica has presented at various regional ESG conferences, including the 2nd CaribESG conference in Trinidad and Tobago. She has also co-presented at the Insurance Association of the Caribbean Conference and spoken on sustainability reporting for organizations such as EUROCHAM Trinidad and Tobago, AMCHAM Trinidad and Tobago, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.
Outside of her professional life, Danica is a devoted mother, a fitness enthusiast, and actively participates in the KPMG Sports and Social Club. She is passionate about environmental causes and volunteers her time for charitable activities.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of the West Indies and a COSO Enterprise Risk Management Certificate Program (Institute of Internal Auditors). Other Sustainability certificates include European Business School: Building ESG Expertise, Sustainability Essentials for Business (University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership) and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
Patrick Borely
Patrick Borely is the Director of Engineering at Hyatt Regency Trinidad and has been the lead person diligently serving as the hotel’s liaison and preparing its application for Green Key certification. Patrick has been with the hotel since 2007 and knows its engineering systems well and where the opportunities exist to improve, water, waste and energy impacts.
Prior to joining the HYATT Regency Trinidad in 2007, Patrick spent 2 years as Chief Engineer at Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica. He holds a Bachelor’s degree, Management, 1985 – 1988 from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
Danii
Danii is a Howard University School of Engineering graduate and Sustainability professional with proven leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
Danii is the co-founder of Carnicycle, an organisation that consults with Caribbean stakeholders to reduce the environmental impact of Caribbean Carnivals and festivals. Her work through Carnicycle has received recognition for her achievements, including a Best Sustainability Business Pitch award and recognition as an honouree of Green Biz’s 2023 30 Under 30 Award.
Outside of Carnicycle, Danii works with Fortune 500 manufacturing companies to manage sustainability programs. In addition to her professional work, Danii volunteers as Sustainable Fashion Ambassador for Re/Make and Content Creator for her church. She is committed to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness in inequitable communities through her faith.
